1.   COLOR IS UNIQUE

Not everyone reacts the same to color. Color can be a unique characteristic experienced by each individual differently. We all assign meaning to color depending on our own life experiences. Someone may recognize the color orange as negative and fiery while another person may view the color as warm and inviting. It will depend greatly on their experience.

2.   BRAIN AND COLOR

People will respond to color differently and this is more linked to the brain than anything else. Some scientists actually believe that our brains are hardwired to react differently to specific colors. For example, for most people blue will signify the sky and good weather. Brown, muddy greens and yellow will usually signify illnesses, suggesting that this is a not a popular color to use. Bare that in mind at all times!

3.   GENDER AND COLOR PREFERENCES

Always look at your target audience when choosing color. There are some instances when even gender may set the line for the preference of color. Men usually will not go for purple, for example, more saturated colors and those that are darker do not go with men. Women prefer softer versions and more gently tinted colors. Always remember this!
